Hugo Lloris is set to leave Tottenham in the summer and the North London club are preparing to add another number one during the transfer window.
The French goalkeeper will leave Spurs after 11 years and it is coming at the right moment as the World Cup winner has been in decline for some time now and is prone to making mistakes.
According to Todofichajes, one option that was being considered by Tottenham to replace their captain was Man United’s David de Gea. That would have been a surprise move as the Spanish goalkeeper is also error-prone and over the age of 30.
However, with De Gea set to sign a new deal at United, Tottenham have another number-one target.
De Gea was an option for Tottenham
Brentford’s David Raya is said to be the goalkeeper Spurs want to replace Lloris and have already made contact over a move, states the report.
The Bees have placed a €40m price tag on their goalkeeper’s head and it remains to be seen if that is a fee Tottenham are willing to match, as there are others also monitoring the Spaniard’s situation at the London club.
