Paul Merson believes Harry Maguire joining West Ham this summer would be a downgrade on his career.
The 30-year-old looks certain to leave Red Devils this summer with clubs like West Ham and Newcastle interested in his services.
Moyes is keen on signing another centre back after the departure of Craig Dawson and Hammers believe they can sign Maguire in cut-price deal when transfer window opens.
“Yeah, it’s hard though, he’s at the biggest club in the world in my opinion, I know they’re not performing like the biggest club in the world but they’re a huge club and he’s there, so wherever he goes from here is going to be a downgrade. He’s worked so hard, from where he’s come from to get to Leicester then to get to Man Utd, it’s probably hard for him to leave, but he has to leave.” – said Merson.
