Michail Antonio is set to leave West Ham United at the end of the season.
That’s according to a recent report from the Mirror, who claim the Hammers have identified Coventry striker Viktor Gyokeres as Antonio’s long-term replacement.
Gyokeres, 24, is a fully-fledged international for Sweden, and after enjoying an impressive campaign with Coventry, who recently reached the playoffs, looks destined to play in the Premier League, regardless of if his current side reaches the big time come the end of the season.
Having scored 22 goals in 47 games this season, Coventry’s Gyokeres, who is valued at £20m, is believed to have attracted the interest of David Moyes, who is on the lookout for a new forward ahead of Antonio’s departure at the end of the season.
Antonio, 33, has been with the Hammers since 2015 but now in the twilight of his career, as well as his form continuing to decline, this season looks set to be his last in the country’s capital.
